Authority

"Servants, respectfully obey your earthly masters, but always with an eye to obeying the real master, Christ. Don't just do what you have to go to get by, but work heartily, as Christ's servants doing what God wants you to do. And work with a smile on your face, always keeping in mind that no matter who happens to be giving the orders, you're really serving God. Good work will get you good pay from the Master, regardless of whether you are a slave or free." (Eph 6:5-8)

I have been reading a book called 'Under Cover' by John Bevere. It talks about being under God's cover, under God's authority. Teaches the fundamental of respecting all authority, not just elders in church or at home. It talks about respecting and obeying ALL authority, that includes government officials as well as leaders put over us, whether it be our supervisor at work or our urban life leader, even the prime minister of the country we live in!

The promise is, if you obey His words, and his delegate authorities word, you will be rewarded. However, if you disobey, you will be disciplined severely. There's one the instance of a couple in the Bible who lied to God and their leaders, and they were struck dead immediately. Oh my, how could I not obey?
